Hi, I'm Sylvia Bella, a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with teens, young adults, and their families as they navigate life's challenges. I know reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you're not sure where to start or what to expect.

Whether you're a teen feeling weighed down by school, friendships, family stress, or emotions that seem hard to understand, a young adult trying to find your footing during life's transitions, or a parent wondering how to best support your teen, you don't have to figure it out alone.

Sometimes people come to therapy because they're feeling anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed. Other times, they're carrying something much heavier—painful experiences, grief, trauma, or wounds that have been affecting them for years. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to carry it by yourself anymore.

My goal is to provide a welcoming, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we'll work to better understand what's getting in the way, build practical skills for handling life's challenges, and, when you're ready, gently process difficult experiences so they no longer have the same hold on your life.

I am trained in EMDR and use trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to help clients safely process traumatic experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing at a pace that feels right for them.

I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to healing, and we'll work together to help you bloom, grow, and flourish.

A Colleague's Perspective

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision. Here's what mental health professionals had to say about working alongside Sylvia.

Sylvia's mix of life experience and excellent clinical skills means you're getting the best of the best. Her caring, empathetic approach really shines and provides a safe environment to allow for meaningful growth.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and what’s been going on in your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say—this is a space where you can start wherever you feel comfortable.

We’ll talk about what’s been feeling overwhelming, what you’d like help with, and what you’re hoping might be different. I may ask some questions to better understand your experiences, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for.

My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, a little more at ease, and with a better sense of what working together could look like.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you're not sure where to start. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable and understood from the beginning. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if it feels like a good fit and go from there at your pace.
